Within the HRI Materials Management team we have an opportunity for a Materials Management Assistant to help to develop and enhance the delivery of our patient focused services strategy. The post holder will work within the Materials Management team within CHS which plays a vital role in ensuring that medical and surgical consumable stock is available to all the wards and departments within the trust. There is a requirement for manual handling and physical distribution of products. The need to work at pace whilst ensuring accuracy is critical to ensure clinical staff have the necessary medical/surgical clinical consumables to deliver healthcare. Regular interaction with staff from all wards and departments is key so a friendly and can do attitude is required at all times. A team player is essential as the daily challenges will require an individual who has is flexible in their approach to the role. The Person We are looking for someone ideally with experience of: β― Working within a stock control based environment. β― Understanding of the basics of stock replenishment. β― Customer service and a friendly βcan doβ attitude. β― Working as part of a team in a time pressured environment **Any CHFT applicants need to be aware that it will involve joining on CHS T&Cs** As part of a locally based Materials Management Team the post holder will: β― On a routine regular basis, ensure that goods are replenished in all areas as required using both stock management systems and oracle i-proc ordering systems. β― To ensure that stock is maintained at the appropriate level using hand held data capture devices and the putting away of all stock to agreed standards. β― Provide reports, specialist advice to customers and generally act as a focal point for all communication relating to ordered stock. β― Maintain appropriate materials management and stores records on behalf of the customer. β― Ensure that the services expected of the Procurement and Supplies Department are delivered in the most cost effective manner consistent with the agreed service standards. β― Work closely with other members in the Materials Management Team and with the Procurement and Supplies Department colleagues. β― Develop relationships with Trust colleagues. β― Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
