Cardiff Steiner School is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced teacher to join us as Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Coordinator in our warm and values-led school community.

As a Steiner Waldorf school, we offer a nurturing and creative learning environment that honours the unique needs and strengths of each student. Part time 22.5 hours per week to be worked over 3 to 5 days. We have an approx. 36 week teaching year. Full time salary £29,180 - 60% Pro Rata post - actual salary £17,508.

About You

You’ll hold an approved Steiner Waldorf Teaching Qualification, or QTS/PGCE, or have equivalent teaching experience in a Steiner school setting. You’ll bring at least two years of proven, successful teaching experience in a school or similar environment, along with a strong background in supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) - including planning and delivering interventions, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’re able to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues, pupils and families. You’ll bring a collaborative, supportive approach, and a genuine interest in Steiner Waldorf education, with a commitment to the ethos and values of the School.

As part of this role, you’ll also benefit from access to the Waldorf UK network of Additional Learning Needs Coordinators, offering professional support and resources tailored specifically to Steiner schools.

We offer a tiered Staff Fee Discount Scheme, providing up to 85% off school fees for staff children, depending on family income (pro rata for part-time roles).

Located in the heart of Wales’ vibrant capital, Cardiff Steiner School offers a full Kindergarten to Class 12 Steiner Waldorf education. Founded in 1997 as a successful Kindergarten, we expanded into Lower School in 2012 and launched our Upper School in 2017. In 2021, our first Class 12 students graduated with the New Zealand Certificate of Steiner Education (NZCSE) a fully accredited, transnational qualification equivalent to A Levels and recognised by UCAS and universities world-wide.
