Liberton High School is a non-denominational secondary school with approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with associated primaries of Craigour Park, Gilmerton, Liberton, and Prestonfield to serve the local community in South East Edinburgh. The school's roll is projected to rise to about 1100 within four years. We are moving into a new, purpose-built Community Campus, scheduled for completion in Spring 2026.
The leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, and a Business Manager. The school employs 65 teaching staff and 26 support staff. Our success is reflected in our attainment over the past five years.
We seek a creative and innovative individual to join our Social Subjects Faculty as a teacher qualified in Modern Studies and either History or Geography. We encourage you to bring your skills, knowledge, and experience to support our pupils’ success, and to introduce new ideas and strategies suitable for our learners.

This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership. If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
