SUMMARY: As a Wet Weather Program SSES CDL Field Technician, you will be responsible for field data collection activities associated with the completion of a typical Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) for the Wet Weather Program. These surveys include flow monitoring, closed-circuit television (CCTV), smoke testing, utility hole inspections, dye testing, and other services as assigned. A wide range of software, hardware, and processes will be used to efficiently identify and exceed client needs and expectations.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT DAY-TO-DAY:
- Performing field investigations by collecting high quality and accurate data.
- Operate sewer cleaning and vacuum truck to clean and remove debris from sanitary and storm sewer lines, utility holes, and lift stations.
- CCTV Inspections - conduct robotic video inspections of wastewater sewer pipelines in accordance with NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP standards.
- Maintenance Hole Inspections - record various structure attributes and identify defects.
- Smoke Testing - conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered.
- Night Flow Isolations - measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage.
- Dye Testing - conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding.
- Flow Monitoring - install & maintain open channel flow metering equipment.
- Ability to work in Confined Spaces, including sanitary sewer holes.
- Review data collected in field to ensure quality and accuracy of information.
- Project planning to meet client requirements.
- Hardware and Software troubleshooting, support, repair, and testing.
- Frequent overnight travel is required.
- This position requires a lot of walking outside and climbing ladders year-round through various terrain and in extreme heat, cold, and immaculate weather.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- CDL License Required.
- Must be able to travel.
- Willing to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.
- Can obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.
- Should possess basic computer skills.
- Good technical skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification is required.
- Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record, drug test, and criminal record.
- Prolonged periods working in outdoor conditions in varying terrain types.

- Must be able to lift equipment up to 45 pounds at times.
