A position is available for a Deputy Lead Radiographer / Technologist – Band 8a in the Nuclear Medicine department at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, located in south Manchester. The Christie is an international leader in cancer research and the largest cancer treatment centre of its kind in Europe. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing clinical Nuclear Medicine services, including advanced imaging with SPECT-CT and PET-CT scanners, and extensive molecular radiotherapy and in-vitro services. The role involves working extended days and weekends. Applicants should have a relevant science degree or equivalent, PgDip or equivalent in Nuclear Medicine, and substantial clinical experience in nuclear medicine, including PET-CT and therapy. Membership of the Register of Clinical Technologists or State Registration as a Radiographer is required. Responsibilities include: Providing clinical Nuclear Medicine services alongside radiographers, technologists, support staff, and scientists. Deputising for the lead clinical technologist in service provision, policy implementation, and service development. Managing, developing, and evaluating staff, including recruitment, appraisal, and professional development, with direct supervision of assistant technologists and support workers. Participating in advanced PET/CT radiographer/technologist education and training nationally. The department offers a range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services, supported by a multidisciplinary team.
