Hybrid working with some travel to Corsham/Bath or London offices, 2-3 times per month

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled UNIX/Linux System Administrator with expertise in scripting, system configuration, and security protocols. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and securing enterprise environments, integrating authentication mechanisms, and ensuring high system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain UNIX/Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts and other automation scripts for system administration tasks.
  • Configure and manage SSL/TLS certificates and Java keystores.
  • Set up and manage LDAP servers and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, including tools like Keycloak.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues related to authentication, security, and performance.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, applying patches and updates as required.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Development, and Security teams to implement best practices and ensure secure system configurations.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for operational support and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • UNIX/Linux Administration: Strong experience in managing Linux servers (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Scripting: Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, or similar) for automation and task execution.
  • SSL/TLS & Java Keystore Management: Hands-on experience configuring and managing SSL certificates and Java keystores.
  • LDAP & SSO Configuration: Proven experience with LDAP configuration and integrating SSO solutions using tools like Keycloak.
  • Networking and Security: Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and secure configurations.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
