Cpl is collaborating with a growing beauty and skincare company with a large customer base, ranging from high street retailers from all around the world, online fashion retailers, and licensed products. With a focus on colour cosmetics, skincare, hair care, body care, and fragrance, the business is looking for a Senior Regulatory Affairs Leader to join a rapidly growing, high-energy business in the Northwest of England. The role involves designing and manufacturing private label and branded cosmetic regulated products from concept and design to delivery.

As a Regulatory Manager, you will join the Regulatory Compliance Team of 9 people. Reporting into our Head of Regulatory, Technical & Quality, you will spearhead the regulatory compliance team, managing the Regulatory & Technical compliance for all retail partners and the business's innovative range of cosmetic products. You will collaborate closely with the NPD Teams and the new China Factory to ensure our products meet the requirements for sale worldwide.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for Regulatory enquiries from the customer or team.
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams and clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements and technical data to diverse audiences, facilitating the successful and timely launch of exciting new products.
  • Ensure comprehensive regulatory compliance for all product artworks and marketing messages across all channels and our target global markets.
  • Work with the Head of Regulatory, Technical & Quality to develop and implement our Global Regulatory strategy.
  • Support NPD on proposed claims and testing for all products to ensure claims are maximised and compliant with legislation in our key markets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of global regulations to ensure the business and its customers remain agile and compliant throughout its fast growth.
  • Take ownership of the development of safe and compliant products, providing expert advice to our development teams on ingredient selection and inclusion, and effectively utilising external consultants where necessary.
  • Author and compile technical documentation for submissions, licensing and re-licensing, and change reporting.
  • Develop strong & supportive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A scientific degree.
  • Previous experience in cosmetics is a MUST.
  • Demonstrable and significant experience in cosmetic regulatory affairs (8+ years plus).
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills, proactive approach to anticipate issues and provide solutions.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high level of creativity and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to speed to market.
