Tutor & Mentor- Full Time. Job in Portsmouth Education & Training Jobs

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their personal and academic development? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor and Tutor to work with two Key Stage 3 students in the Portsmouth area for between 21-25 hours per week.

As a Mentor/Tutor, you will:

• Drive the young person from home and school and undertake mentoring activities in the community.
• Understand the needs, interests and goals of the young person that you are mentoring, to plan engaging tasks/ activities.
• Assist the young person in your care to develop their confidence.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
• Record student progress and report on this weekly.
• Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
• Record attendance.
• Be organised, dependable and creative.

• To possess a driving licence with business insurance

Full time/part-time – 21-25 hours per week- flexible
Hours – Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (9:30am-12:30pm) and flexibility with afternoons.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

• • • Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is essential.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
    • Organisational skills, patience, empathy.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

• Hold right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide references upon request
• Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
