Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that focus on practical cookery, nutritional understanding, and healthy lifestyles.
- Manage kitchen-based classrooms safely and effectively, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are upheld.
- Inspire creativity and independence through hands-on learning and cross-curricular projects.
- Track and assess pupil progress, adapting lesson plans to support all learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Design & Technology faculty to enhance interdisciplinary teaching.
- Contribute to departmental development, enrichment activities, and food-based initiatives across the school.
Job Requirements:
- A qualified teacher status (QTS) specialisation in Food Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Food Technology.
- Strong subject knowledge in nutrition, food preparation and health & safety regulations.
- A passion for practical learning, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
- Applications from experienced TAs or Cover Supervisors with a food tech or practical learning background are welcome.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
