We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to the role of College Student Support Advisor. The post holder will be responsible for providing and contributing to an effective, customer-focused school-based student support service. A key aspect of the role is to ensure students are making informed choices about their progression and academic performance. The role will be crucial in supporting early intervention, providing advice and guidance to students with long-term health conditions, and timely mental health interventions. This includes reaching out to students who are struggling academically or with pastoral needs to offer advice and support to help them continue their university journey.
About You: You should hold a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification, with demonstrable experience in a support role within a busy, emotionally demanding environment. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with students and staff while maintaining professional boundaries. We are looking for someone with an awareness of mental health, experience in assessing needs, delivering appropriate support, and understanding the importance of discretion and confidentiality. Experience working in Higher Education, knowledge of safeguarding and the Equality Act, and an understanding of barriers faced by underrepresented groups would be advantageous.
