Are you an empathic and innovative individual with a passion for supporting pupils, particularly with special educational needs? GSL Education are currently working closely with a lovely school in Compton. This friendly SEMH School is focused strongly on providing support and care for their pupils. The school aims to meet the needs of boys and girls who have difficulty managing social interactions, positive relationships and recognising and regulating their emotions.
Working in a SEMH school can be challenging. We need the right person with the right attitude. We are looking for a calm, caring and highly motivated individual who is very understanding with challenging behaviour. Experience in a school environment is desirable but work experience that can be adapted is accepted.
This role includes:
- Supporting the teaching and learning of SEMH pupils
- Working closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties
- Working in classrooms supporting Teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants
Full-time is preferred but part-time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available. Hours 8:30am-3:30pm.
To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
