Job Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers across classrooms including during arrival, dismissal, recess, gym or restroom routines. Step in as a substitute when needed. Support children with special needs or behaviour challenges (shadowing). Help implement engaging age-appropriate activities and maintain a safe nurturing environment.
  • Child Interaction: Support children's social-emotional and spiritual growth using positive reinforcement and guidance. Encourage communication, creativity and problem-solving through respectful age-appropriate interactions. Respond promptly to children's physical and emotional needs.

Job Requirements

  • Professionalism & Communication: Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families. Communicate positively and clearly with staff and parents. Represent the school's Catholic mission in all interactions. Attend staff meetings, open houses and required trainings. Be flexible, cooperative and willing to adapt to changing classroom needs.
  • Health & Compliance: Must provide a current negative TB test result before starting employment. Follow all health, safety and school policies.
