Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:
This role works as an essential part of the Tech and Data Hub Model Production team, responsible for generating high quality 3D visualisation models, all produced and compliant to Tech and Data Hub creative and technical processes and standards. The primary purpose is successful delivery of physically accurate digital materials using a strong understanding of photography, optics, and digital scanning techniques and to support a variety of on-board and off-board CGI use cases, across Vehicle Design, Materiality, Brand and Customer Ready workstreams, using cross-functional collaboration and support.
Key features of the role include physically accurate material/shader development, complex texture creation, reference capture/data management, and material library management. There will be scope to maintain and adapt internal processes to improve efficiency and quality of textures and materials delivered by the department.
Skills Required:
- Expert in building and maintaining complex shading networks, with a focus on methodical and efficient design
- Expert in the capture of physical references for digital reproduction using a strong understanding of photography, optics, and digital scanning techniques.
- Expert understanding of real-world materials, energy conserving principles, and physically based rendering and shader models.
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of in-depth experience of texturing and material/shader creation within CGI industry.
- Expert understanding of real-world materials, energy conserving principles, and physically based rendering and shader models.
- Expert in building and maintaining complex shading networks, with a focus on methodical and efficient design.
- Expert with the analysis and study of physical inputs to generate accurate and complex digital textures and materials.
- Expert in material creation using VRay renderer with Autodesk Maya
- Expert in material creation using Unreal Engine
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Expert in texture creation using Adobe Substance Designer
- Expert in data / file management
- Expert in the capture of physical references for digital reproduction using a strong understanding of photography, optics, and digital scanning techniques.
- Strong understanding of 3D model topology and UV mapping with UDIM's.
- Experienced in working to defined processes and technical standards (pipeline) and expert in designing and implementing ongoing workflow improvements.
- Knowledge of MS Office365.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
Experience Preferred:
- Previous experience working with / for Automotive OEMs
- Understanding of material creation using MaterialX, Maya LookdevX.
- Experience working with USD
- General understanding of material creation using VRed, Blender, Deltagen.
- Experience using Foundry Nuke
This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.
