Are you an experienced Head of Estates with a background in building maintenance or services within a customer focused environment? If so, join Elysium Healthcare as Head of Estates and indirectly help some of the most vulnerable people in society. You will be working with the Procurement and Property director to agree subcontract PPM scope, obtain best value and roll out across the group. You will manage PPM SLAs and KPIs along with estates property compliance to BS standards.
What you will be doing:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive estates strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
- Develop and implementation of PPM plans.
- Identify and work with stakeholders for sourcing and implementation of CAFM systems.
- Advise the executive team on estates risk, compliance, and performance metrics.
- Operational Estate Management
- Lead the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the estate.
- Ensure operational efficiency, minimal downtime, and a safe working environment.
- Manage contractor performance and stakeholder engagement throughout the lifecycle of contracts.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations (e.g. health & safety, fire, asbestos, legionella, building regulations).
- Maintain up-to-date asset registers, risk assessments, and compliance reporting frameworks.
- Lead estate audits and inspections, ensuring remedial actions are closed promptly.
- Budgetary & Financial Accountability
- Manage estate-related PPM budgets, ensuring value for money, accurate forecasting, and cost control.
- Prepare business cases and capital bids, ensuring financial and strategic justification.
- Monitor service contracts, leases, and insurance arrangements as required.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Provide strong leadership to estates and facilities teams, including managers, engineers, and support staff.
- Set clear objectives, develop workforce capability, and embed a performance-driven culture.
- Foster collaboration with other departments including Health & Safety, HR, Finance & Procurement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven Experience: Over 3 years in a similar management role (Preferably private healthcare), with a background in building maintenance or services within a customer-focused environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of compliance regulations in Estates/Facilities and workplace health and safety. BS standards, HBN's & HTM's.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in leading, managing, and developing teams to achieve excellent results.
- Project Management: Skilled in budget management, procurement, tendering, and delivering PPM and capital programs.
