Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Field Services Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of IT equipment, including servers, storage systems, PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, peripherals, and point-of-sale systems. You will work at various customer locations across the UK, ensuring high-quality support and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to diverse customer sites to provide on-site IT support services
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of IT hardware and systems
- Install, move, and make changes to IT equipment across client sites
- Perform software and hardware troubleshooting and installations
- Follow client and internal documented procedures, offering feedback for improvement
- Adhere to safety and ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions at all times
- Accurately complete documentation and provide timely updates after each site visit
- Participate in an on-call rota covering mornings, evenings, and weekends (on-call allowance applies)
- Support wider IT teams as needed
- Willingness to work overtime when required (overtime rates apply)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IT hardware, including data centre equipment and end-user computing devices
- Ability to configure software based on client specifications
- Possession of relevant and up-to-date vendor certifications (e.g. Dell, Lenovo, IBM, HP) or, proven demonstrable experience happy to take the accreditation for HP, IBM & Lenovo
- Sound understanding of hardware maintenance and break/fix procedures
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Must be eligible for UK security clearances such as SC and NPPV3
