This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Community Facilities Team as we continue our journey in our new premises. The Town Hall and commercial office space are currently occupied by Crawley Borough Council, and we look forward to welcoming new commercial tenants on the upper floors soon.

You will provide an efficient, friendly, and welcoming service that promotes and supports Crawley Borough Council staff and other occupiers on the upper floors. As the first point of contact, you will handle:

  • Enquiries
  • Complaints
  • General reception duties, including administrative tasks, access control, booking committee rooms, and managing building access for contractors and visitors

Problem solving, decision-making, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent are essential. We seek someone with proven experience in a busy high-end reception role with exceptional customer service skills. Good verbal, listening, and written communication skills are essential, along with a solid knowledge of Health and Safety at Work.

You will be First Aid trained or willing to undertake and pass the qualification within the first three months of employment. You will also serve as an Evacuation Control Officer, coordinating and assisting with the safe evacuation of personnel during emergencies and liaising with emergency services as required.

Additional information

Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3 pm. A full UK driving license is required for this role. If you are not already qualified in First Aid, you must be willing to undertake training within three months of starting. An additional allowance will be paid once qualified.
