Opportunity: Norman Rourke Pryme (NRP) is looking to appoint a talented Traffic Modeller to play a key role in our growing traffic and transportation business. The traffic modelling role will primarily involve leading the development of local and microsimulation traffic models, supported by our existing traffic modelling team, providing technical expertise within the team and contributing to the future growth of the business. NRP are currently engaged on a number of very high-profile and challenging projects for key clients and there would be the opportunity to become involved in these projects directly and play a pivotal role in their delivery.

NRP specialise in undertaking transport planning studies and developing traffic and transportation schemes for public and private sector clients. We have established a strong reputation for producing high quality traffic modelling for a variety of purposes and have a good track record in developing innovative methodologies and solutions.

The project work that NRP undertakes is varied, challenging and often high-profile due to the clients that we work for in Central London and across the UK. This ensures that the successful candidate will enjoy an interesting and satisfying work-life with many opportunities to develop valuable skills and experience.

Requirements: it is essential that you have:

  • A good skill level and experience of using LinSig and Vissim/ microsimulation software (including VisVAP).
  • A good level of professional work experience, with London experience highly desirable.
  • A good standard relevant degree, or a post graduate qualification in transport planning or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability.
  • A working knowledge of industry modelling guidance and an understanding of calibration and validation techniques.
  • A high standard of numeracy.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular.

Additionally, the following skills / experience would be considered beneficial:

  • Experience of TfL’s Model Auditing Process.
  • Experience with other software packages, i.e.: PTV Visum (ONE modelling in particular), GIS, Paramics, SATURN, Aimsun, Python.
  • Project management.
