Overview

Our client is a leading industrial business with international reach seeking a highly capable and commercially focused Management Accountant to take ownership of UK financial operations. This is a hands-on, strategically important role, reporting directly to the UK Managing Director and working closely with the Group Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong manufacturing or industrial experience who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting.
  • Lead the month-end close process and coordinate with auditors for year-end reporting.
  • Oversee VAT, HMRC compliance, Intrastat, and other regulatory filings.
  • Provide detailed analysis of product and customer profitability, advising on margin improvement.
  • Manage and mentor a small team.
  • Support strategic planning, including budgets and forecasts.
  • Take responsibility for credit control, purchase ledger, and cash management.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on business plans and cost-modelling initiatives.

Experience required:

  • Fully or part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent).
  • Sector experience within manufacturing, engineering or industrial.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with production processes, Bill of Materials, and variance analysis.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (e.g. Sage, SAP) and Excel-based modelling.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence key stakeholders.
