Contract Desktop Support Engineer – NHS Trust

We are currently supporting an NHS organisation in North Yorkshire that is looking to engage a Desktop Support Engineer to assist in the delivery of high-quality BAU support across the Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital frontline services in a fast-paced, healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide BAU desktop support for hardware, software and peripheral equipment across the organisation
- Act as a local technical expert, supporting users both remotely and in person across hospital and community-based sites
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, escalating where necessary and tracking progress through to resolution
- Support installations, configurations, moves and decommissions of IT equipment
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure continuity of service
- Maintain IT security best practices and promote safe use of technology
- Contribute to the implementation of new systems and support ongoing IT projects
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in an IT support or desktop engineering role, ideally within the NHS
- Strong technical understanding of desktop hardware, Microsoft operating systems and common software applications
- Outstanding customer service is essential
