About This Position

This role involves working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Harnett County Jail. We are hiring for part-time morning shifts and full-time positions.

• Part-time hours: 5:30 am – 9:30 am, 5 days a week, including some weekends.

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members in the food service operation, preparing and serving food according to menus and work instructions, utilizing various food prep utensils and machines.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food
• Serve food during scheduled meal times following policies
• Use kitchen equipment properly and follow food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and equipment
• Follow uniform and safety policies
• Assist with garbage disposal and floor cleaning
• Ensure proper portioning and serving
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent; must be at least 18 years old
• Preferred: Experience in institutional food service or restaurants
