The RWJBH Security Officer ensures a safe and secure environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License with eligibility for RWJBH insurance coverage. Out-of-state licenses must be transferred to New Jersey within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain de-escalation training certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
- At least one (1) year of customer service, security experience, or military service (preferred).
- Proficiency with keyboarding, data entry, and Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (preferred).
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Polish) are preferred but not required.

Essential Functions
- Conduct patrols and monitor facilities to maintain security, adapting to indoor and outdoor posts.
- Provide professional customer service while vigilantly watching for security threats.
- Manage access control, perform data entry, and utilize Microsoft Office for incident reports and administrative tasks.
- Engage effectively with a diverse population using strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Perform weapon screening and enforce safety policies.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in crisis de-escalation using certified techniques.
- Other duties as assigned, with activities subject to change.
