First Time Dealership Accountant

A well-established and growing automotive group is offering an excellent opportunity for the right individual to progress into a Dealership Accountant role at their Elstree site.This is a genuine step-up role designed for someone with strong dealership accounts experience, looking to develop into a lead finance position with full support and mentoring from the senior finance team.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with and gradually take ownership of monthly management accounts, including analysis and commentary.Work alongside the Divisional Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting.Supervise day-to-day accounting operations including bank reconciliations, ledgers, and cash flow.Liaise with a centralised accounts team to ensure efficient processing of purchase and sales ledger activity.Provide financial support to the General Manager and departmental leaders.Lead and support accounts assistants and sales administration staff as part of your development.Identify areas for financial process improvement and support wider business initiatives.Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc project work.Candidate ProfileCurrently working as an Assistant Accountant in a franchised car dealership environment.Solid understanding of dealership accounting processes and monthly reporting cycles.Experience with Kerridge, Pinnacle, or similar dealership management systems.Strong attention to detail, with good organisational and communication skills.Ambitious, self-motivated, and looking to grow into a leadership role.Capable of managing deadlines and working collaboratively with operational teams.What We OfferCompetitive salary of £40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience.10% performance-related bonus structure.Company car provided.Supportive leadership and a structured development plan.*Long-term career progression within a respected and growing automotive group.If you have dealership accounting experience and are looking for an opportunity to progress into a full Dealership Accountant role, we would like to hear from you.Apply now to take the next step in your automotive finance career.
