An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Lawyer to join a well-capitalised, international property developer, with a strong track record across the residential and commercial real estate sectors. Their UK team is now seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to become the most senior legal professional based in the UK.

This is a five-day-a-week office role in a collaborative and collegiate team of 40 people with a healthy, sustainable culture around hours and workload.

The role:

This is a super opportunity for a Real Estate Lawyer around 7 PQE to step into a focused in-house role, with excellent scope for progression. You will be supported by a high-performing senior paralegal and work closely with stakeholders in both London and Hong Kong.

The successful Legal Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of property-related legal matters across the development lifecycle, including acquisitions, disposals, title investigations, and leasing. You will also provide legal input on construction and planning aspects of active and future developments.

  • Lead legal support on UK real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and lettings.
  • Negotiate and draft sale and purchase agreements, leases, development agreements, and consultant appointments.
  • Manage legal due diligence and title investigations.
  • Support planning and construction matters alongside external counsel and consultants.
  • Liaise directly with colleagues and leadership in both the UK and HK to align legal risk management with commercial objectives.
  • Oversee and mentor the senior paralegal in the legal team.
  • Instruct and manage external legal counsel as necessary.

About you:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with circa 7 years’ PQE, gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Strong technical background in property law, with experience in acquisitions, disposals, and leasing.
  • Experience working as part of an international team is key.
  • Familiarity with planning and construction law issues relevant to developers is desirable.
  • Comfortable working in a standalone UK legal counsel role, while part of a wider international legal team.
  • Confident communicator, capable of building trust with both UK-based and international stakeholders.
