In this Housing Team Leader opportunity in Chesterfield, you will join a charity helping vulnerable young people gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless.

The role is to help customers manage their own money accordingly to maintain their tenancy longer term whilst also being responsible for leading and developing a team of front line workers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a small caseload of clients living in temporary accommodation. Assisting them with housing support / applying for benefits - caseload will consist of complex needs.
  • Undertake supervisions for all staff members - keeping track of targets / KPIs and performance.
  • Working with the housing services manager to support tenants to pay rent and service charges - including advice on their finances.
  • Helping promote independence of the tenants living in the temporary accommodation.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining health and safety procedures on site - making sure all customers / staff are safe and free from harm.
  • Creating the staff rota / dealing with sickness and absences when required - keeping up to date records of the site.

Skills & experience:

  • Proven track record of working within supported housing / homelessness.
  • You will need to have worked in a senior / team leader post previously.
  • Able to work flexibly over 8am-8pm during the week.
  • A valid DBS child and adult cleared issued within 12 months or on the update service.
