A Business Development Manager job based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex for a fast-growing company targeting the offshore wind, nuclear and oil & gas sectors. You will be joining a small and progressive team with ambitious growth plans in the next few years to treble in turnover. The role will be building relationships with consultancies, contractors, designers and engineers to ensure their products are specified at the design phase.
The company was established over 30 years ago and they have built a solid reputation for their engineered products. The role will be managing sales pipelines to close for high value contracts, with the average deal value being £250k. You will be proactive in developing their existing client base made up of some of the leading players in the energy sector, as well as generating new business in new target markets. The role will involve attending relevant industry events internationally as well as online webinars and face to face client meetings. About the role:
- Grow existing accounts and build new business relationships
- Get a full understanding of the client’s requirements for their project/s and recommend the correct products to meet their objectives
- Manage multiple sales pipelines through the full sales cycle to close
- Attend relevant industry networking events around the world
- Host and/or attend industry webinars
- Communicate via email, phone and face to face
- Work closely with marketing to develop and launch new products
- Industry research, keeping abreast of new and pipeline projects
- Record all sales activity using the CRM system
- Report on sales pipeline to Business Unit Leader level
The ideal candidate:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Business Development, Account Manager or Sales Manager
- Experience selling engineered/bespoke solutions
- Consultative and friendly sales approach
- Experienced in nurturing clients through long sales cycles to fruition
- Ideally experienced in high value deals of £100k+
- Must have the flexibility to travel internationally
- Confident networker
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience selling to the offshore wind, nuclear or oil & gas sectors would be advantageous but not essential to the role
Benefits:
- Salary £40,000 - £50,000 (Up to £17k OTE uncapped)
- Quarterly bonus up to 10% of salary
- Commission scheme (2% on all new projects)
