Unique School Solutions are working with a specialist school in Rotherham who are needing Autism (ASD) specialist Teaching Assistants to work in both their primary and secondary units, supporting students with Autism (ASD) and/or Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). The role is to start ASAP and for the right person could lead to a permanent job after 12 weeks.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with ASD and/or PDA within the last 2 years, and within a school/residential/social care setting
  • A good level of physical fitness. This is a demanding role
  • Patience, empathy and calmness
  • The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
  • Personal care and Makaton experience is desirable but not essential
