Positioned within the commercial team, you’ll be right in the centre of a fast paced team, working hand in hand with the buying team, building strong relationships with our biggest suppliers and working closely with all other functions across the business to build, plan and execute the customer and commercial strategy and develop our business for future growth. You’ll help support development of the category strategy for the LSTV category squad. Combining customer and competitor insight along with financial imperatives to ensure the LSTV category squad develops a strategy to both maximise CSAT and EBIT. The role will act as a lynchpin between all functional representatives in the squad, pulling together annual, quarterly and in-season initiatives and activities to maximise performance.

You’ll work closely with the Commercial buying, Central Planning, Brand and Marketing, Online, Services and Retail operations teams, whilst using your influencing skills to secure support to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Senior GTM/GTM manager to ensure the squad adequately understands the category landscape, including customers, competitors, trends, financial performance, range performance, threats and opportunities, to support the development of the annual category strategy.
  • Supporting the Senior GTM/GTM Manager to create the blueprint for the annual category strategy, helping define the guiderails for: target KPIs (CSAT, share, EBIT, stock), customer shopping journey, category proposition and the 'go to market' plan.
  • Working with the Senior GTM/GTM manager and the central planning and brand & marketing function to develop in line with the annual events calendar the 'Go to market' strategy and plan for the category, supporting all briefs required for its execution.
  • Supporting the squad in landing all major initiatives, including major new product launches, new merchandising solutions and changes to the customer journey - online and in-store.
  • Bringing appropriate analytics and insight from the online and customer team to support decision making related to day to day trading, events and promotions and range changes to ensure the category are making relevant data driven decisions and plans.
  • Co-ordinate responses to major marketing briefs across the category in appropriate templates including TV deals, home page nominations, deal lists, CRM requirements, overarching promotions e.g. trade in, Euro.
  • Work with peer groups to lead cross-functional delivery for all things related to customer journey including PoS, Ticket and online execution briefs.

You will need:

  • Considerable experience working in a similar role
  • Good numerical and analytical skills to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit and cash
  • Good planning, organisational and multitasking skills
  • Can Do Attitude
  • Inter-personal and communication skills, capable of working cross functionally to achieve the desired results
  • Customer champion with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs
  • Good working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as MS Office workflow tools
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Good presentation and speaking skills - building strong rapport with brand representatives
