We are recruiting for a Technical Operative for a leading IT service provider based in Hatfield.
You must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance for this role, and the shifts are 8am-4pm and 4pm-12am, Monday to Friday.

  1. We are looking to recruit a Technical Operative 1 in the Configuration department for our growing team, which will provide effective and efficient support to our clients.
  2. The role involves providing basic to intermediate IT configuration services, with competence at component level, and managing workload independently within specified timeframes.
  3. A typical Technical Operative 1 will perform software installations and configurations within existing IT infrastructure or pre-designed projects, and should be familiar with current Microsoft desktop Operating Systems.
  4. Work on bespoke systems and in-house systems (training provided).
  5. Building various systems using detailed scripts—training will be provided on scripts, which must be followed carefully to avoid escalation.
  6. Effective upward reporting: Strong communication skills are essential to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
  7. Data input: Approximately 25-50% of the role involves manual data entry on spreadsheets, requiring attention to detail.
  8. Consolidating consignments for distribution: understanding how individual assignments contribute to the overall order, and communicating effectively with supervisors and team leaders regarding schedule adjustments.
  9. Pallet movement and work planning.
  10. Ability to work towards targets and SLA, with good time management skills.
  11. Handling IT equipment, including boxing and unboxing.

This is an umbrella contract role, inside IR35.
