Are you experienced in working on port cranes and looking for a new challenge? Our client is a leading provider of port crane solutions, specializing in RTG (Rubber-Tired Gantry), STS (Ship-to-Shore), mobile harbour and RMG (Rail Mounted Gantry) cranes. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they deliver solutions to optimise port operations worldwide.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Port Crane Field Service Engineer to join a dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in servicing and maintaining RTG's, STS, mobile harbour and RMG cranes, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on RTG's, STS, mobile harbour and RMG cranes around the South East to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical or hydraulic issues, implementing timely and effective solutions.
  • Perform upgrades, modifications, and installations as required to enhance crane performance and functionality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate service activities and minimise downtime.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and onsite personnel to optimize crane operation and maintenance practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment records.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulic Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience working with port cranes.
  • Strong knowledge of crane systems, including mechanical, electrical or hydraulic components.
  • Industry certifications or tickets related to crane maintenance and operation (e.g., CPCS, NPORS, IPAF).
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
