TÜV SÜD is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Electrical Safety team as an offsite engineer, supporting testing at clients' premises. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients in achieving CE marking, global market access, and product compliance for various electrical devices. The role requires good interpersonal skills, confidence in face-to-face client interactions, and a desire to develop as a Product Safety Specialist within a global compliance organization.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical safety testing and design assessments at customer sites and occasionally in test labs (e.g., Octagon House in Fareham or Bearley in Snitterfield).
- Identify compliance requirements and develop strategies using a pragmatic approach.
- Perform factory inspections as needed.
- Compile test summaries and reports supporting testing and certification activities.
- Peer review documentation and reports.
- Ensure quality and timely delivery of projects within budget.
Qualifications / Qualifikationen
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in electrical safety testing and knowledge of CE marking.
- Understanding of IEC operational documents, CTF process, and Technical Committees.
- Knowledge of global market access requirements for electrical products.
- Hands-on experience with electrical/electronic circuits.
- Knowledge of test laboratory quality and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills, commitment, and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Willingness to work off-site at client locations and travel overseas.
- Valid driving license.
- Ability to adapt to ad hoc shift patterns to meet deadlines.
Desirable Criteria
- Practical experience in a test house environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and global certification procedures.
- Familiarity with standards like 62368, 61010-1, and 60335-1.
- Experience conducting CIG023 inspections.
