GS-Hydro is a worldwide group recently celebrating its 50th anniversary. While our work mainly covers hydraulic systems, we also work with a wide variety of systems, materials, and sizes depending on each project's requirements. Over time, this work will encompass UK-based, offshore, and abroad projects.
Due to increased business, GS-Hydro UK Ltd is actively seeking new candidates to perform mechanical manufacturing engineering operations through both hands-on experience and in-house training. Candidates with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Pipefitting
- Hydraulics
- Small Bore Tubing
Responsibilities
The duties within this role include, but are not limited to:
- Learning how to fabricate pipe spools using manual or hydraulically operated equipment and understanding associated safety protocols.
- Assisting with building units and installing correct piping techniques and connection types.
- Over time, learning to read, understand, and produce technical drawings and piping schematics.
- Receiving training in the maintenance and inspection of our workshop and offshore machine fleet.
- Gaining knowledge about flushing and pressure testing of pipework and hoses within the workshop.
- Working on-site in the UK, abroad, or offshore, depending on project requirements.
- Occasional weekend work, both in the workshop and onsite.
- Maintaining good communication skills and understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the industry.
- A full UK driving license is advantageous.
- A forklift truck license would be advantageous but can be provided through training.
- Being reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Working comfortably outside in all weather conditions when required.
- Maintaining a professional attitude.

What You Will Experience
You will develop knowledge in using technological principles to solve engineering problems and generate innovative solutions related to piping and fluid transfer issues. Initially working locally within the specified business units, and eventually in the field, covering land-based engineering projects and offshore work, either individually or as part of a team. You will also develop essential skills in communication, numeracy, IT, problem-solving, and teamwork.
