A quirky, independent, outdoor restaurant based at Hanlons Brewery in Half Moon Village on the A377 near Exeter and Crediton. Its reputation for excellent customer service, amazing food, and great drinks is contributing towards its consistent β5 starβ reviews.
We are looking for a friendly, new member to join our hardworking and passionate team as a Front of House Manager. We seat 100, 3 days a week (Thursday to Saturdays). You will be an excellent leader, team player, and passionate about great service and love beer and BBQ food!
You will be able to use your own initiative and demonstrate previous success in maintaining and improving customer satisfaction. You will enjoy letting your personality shine through to ensure that you build a rapport with all customers, providing them with the best experience.
Our Front of House team is proud of their customer service reputation; they deliver a professional service with a personal style. The role is hands-on and includes:
- Welcoming and seating guests
- Managing reservations
- Waiting on tables
- Taking orders
- Running food
- Looking after customers with passion and pride

Additional Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage front-of-house staff ensuring high standards of service are maintained.
- Coordinate daily restaurant operations, including managing reservations, seating arrangements, and customer enquiries.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Monitor inventory levels of food and beverage supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock levels.
- Uphold food safety standards by conducting regular inspections and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Organise special events or promotions to enhance the dining experience for guests.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
- Familiarity with bartending practices is an advantage.
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
