The Role

The Gatwick School is looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced administrative assistant on a part-time, permanent basis to support the school\’s continued success.

Hours: Part time (21 hours per week to be worked over 3 days)

Salary: West Sussex NJC Scale Point 14 – FTE: £30,269.00 (actual salary: £14,776.20)

The administrative assistant provides essential organisational support to the school office.

Qualifications:

GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent – Essential

Skills and Experience
Essential

  • Previous experience of reception work
  • Previous experience of undertaking a range of administrative duties
  • Experience of working successfully as part of a team
  • Ability to use language and other communication skills that pupils can understand and relate to
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening skills
  • Excellent numerical skills, to undertake a variety of tasks, e.g. collecting monies and maintaining accounts for school activities
  • Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure, whilst working to deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a school environment
  • Working knowledge of school management information systems
