The Design and Projects department is responsible for the delivery of Council's major capital works which include buildings, roads, and civil infrastructure. Joining our team means working in a progressive City Council within a region on the rise. Penrith is expected to receive significant growth and investment in the next 20 years, and this position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work alongside a team of professionals responsible for achieving quality outcomes for architecture, landscape architecture, civil design, and project management.
About the role
A permanent full-time opportunity is available for the position of Major Projects Coordinator. This role coordinates and manages the delivery of major projects from investigation through to concept and detail design, construction completion, and handover.
Essential criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, or related field
- Extensive experience on large scale ($10-$100M) complex civil infrastructure projects in design, project, and construction management including experience of major road projects
- Considerable experience in tendering including the preparation of tender and contract documents
- Considerable experience in contracts management, administration of contracts, and knowledge of AS4000 and AS4902
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Proposals, infrastructure financing models, and best practices in engineering and architecture
- Ability to understand high level technical and commercial issues
- Class C Driver Licence
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $125,617.00 - $145,407.00 per annum plus 11.5% Superannuation and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications, and experience of the preferred applicant. Access to a Motor Vehicle Allowance is available with this position; however, it is not a condition of employment.
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration, and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
