About The Role: As part of the EMEA Solutions team, this role supports power trading customers and prospects. The ideal candidate combines expertise in market modeling and a deep understanding of trading operations, fluent in trader language, and capable of leveraging market insights for decision-making. This position offers the chance to work closely with trading organizations, helping unlock the potential of PLEXOS and shaping energy trading in the EMEA region.

This Role Has Two Primary Objectives:

  • Deliver tailored support and solutions for power trading clients, from pre-trade analysis to post-trade optimization.
  • Support business development and thought leadership by generating insights, demonstrating solutions, and fostering adoption of PLEXOS in trading organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients build and refine models supporting trading decisions.
  • Lead requirements gathering and design innovative modeling approaches tailored to trading needs.
  • Guide on best practices, analyze outputs, and calibrate models for accuracy.
  • Train trading teams on PLEXOS usage.
  • Engage with prospects, demonstrate PLEXOS capabilities, and create Proof of Concept studies.
  • Deliver presentations, contribute feedback for product enhancements, and conduct market research.
  • Develop studies on power trading topics and present at industry events.

This customer-facing role requires strong modeling skills, domain expertise, excellent communication, professionalism, and adaptability in a dynamic environment. It offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate globally, and travel across EMEA. The role can be based in London or remotely, with potential international travel.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of electricity markets and power trading.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, Operations Research, or similar, with specialization in Electricity Systems/Markets preferred.
  • Experience with PLEXOS or similar optimization tools.
  • 5-7 years in energy markets, with understanding of energy economics, market fundamentals, and energy systems operation.
  • Experience with market modeling via optimization tools such as PLEXOS, BID3, Antaras, SDDP, PROMOD, etc.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, positive attitude, and focus on quality.
