At Cotswold Pre Academy we are focused on the development of young players between the ages of 5 and 9 years old. We are currently looking to add to our team and employ an FA level 2/UEFA C licensed coach to lead sessions at our pre academy site on a Wednesday evening in Gloucester. You will work alongside our current experienced pre academy staff who will help to support your development as a coach. We also provide a varied games programme which includes development centres and professional academy teams. The successful coach will be asked to lead these fixtures on an ad-hoc basis.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead sessions and fixtures for one of our age groups at our Quedgeley site.
  • Ensure these sessions are delivered in line with the Cotswold Pre Academy syllabus and values.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants, liaising with the Club Welfare Officer when required.
  • Manage an Assistant Coach whilst ensuring they are delivering to the academy syllabus.
  • Oversee trialists providing suitable evaluation and feedback during the process.
  • Feedback regularly to the Director of Coaching on player development.
  • Manage the kit and equipment needed for sessions.

Person Specification

  • Hold an FA Level 2/UEFA C Licence coaching qualification.
  • Experience of coaching or teaching children.
  • Driving licence and own transport.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Able to plan sessions which engage and challenge young footballers.
  • Willing to learn and develop as a coach.
  • Hold or be able to obtain a DBS certificate.
  • Hold an up to date FA safeguarding and first aid qualification.
  • Live within 30 minutes of the training venue.
