A thriving small animal practice based in Totton, Hampshire , is currently seeking an additional veterinary surgeon to support ongoing growth and an expanding client base. This independent-minded practice offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a multi-certificate holder in small animal and emergency surgery , with further interests in exotics and zoology . The practice sees a varied caseload that includes orthopaedics, soft tissue, emergency work, and exotic species providing an excellent platform for learning and professional development . The veterinary team is supported by 3 experienced RVNs , a student nurse , and a friendly, efficient reception team , creating a collaborative and positive work environment. What to expect: Structured working days with time allocated for both consultations and surgeries Last consult at 6pm; practice closes at 7pm to support work-life balance Full-time role preferred, but flexible/reduced hours considered Shared Saturday rota (9am12pm) consultations and emergencies only No out-of-hours (OOH) commitment What were looking for: Solid GP experience Confidence in occasional sole charge Team player with strong communication skills Dedication to high clinical standards Interest in ultrasonography or internal medicine is a bonus Motivated to develop, with certificate funding/support available Whats on offer: Salary up to £60,000 (commensurate with experience) 4 weeks holiday + 8 bank holidays (FTE) Life assurance (4x salary) Contributory pension scheme Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS) Dedicated CPD allowance Certificate support and funding available No OOH The practice is a modern, standalone facility with 3 consult rooms, a theatre, and an upstairs staff area including an office, kitchen, and break room. Situated in Totton, on the west side of Southampton , the location offers easy access to the New Forest National Park and the south coast , making it ideal for a great quality of life outside work.
