Experienced Construction Field Assistant

Mr. B Greenfield Construction is hiring a skilled and reliable construction field assistant to support ground-up single-family home builds. We are developing multiple residential lots in Dudley, NC, and need a professional who understands the building process, especially raised slab foundations. This is a long-term opportunity with consistent work. We start with a paid 1-week trial.

Screening Questions:

• Have you built single-family homes from start to finish? Describe your experience.
• What are the specific steps involved in building a raised slab foundation?
• Can you read and interpret construction blueprints? Describe your process.
• Are you able to coordinate and manage subcontractors on-site?
• Are you available to start with a 1-week paid trial?
• Can you provide two references from recent construction jobs?
• Do you have your own transportation and tools?
• Do you have administrative or site management experience (such as scheduling, reporting, or permit coordination)? If yes, describe what you’ve handled and how you stay organized.

Responsibilities:

• Support construction from raised slab foundation to final framing.
• Assist with layout, excavation, footings, stem walls, and slab pouring.
• Ensure work meets North Carolina building codes and passes inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and productive job site.
• Handle basic administrative tasks such as scheduling, materials tracking, and coordination with inspectors.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on residential construction experience is required to be considered for this position.
• Proven track record working on raised slab foundation projects.
• Ability to accurately read and follow blueprints and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with North Carolina building codes and inspections.
• Experience managing or assisting with subcontractor coordination.
• Strong communication skills and team leadership qualities.
• Comfortable handling administrative tasks such as material tracking, schedules, and permits.
• Must own basic construction tools and have reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a background check and provide work references.

Compensation: $20 hourly depending on experience.
