Labcorp is currently looking for a hard-working, motivated individual to join our team as a Cage Wash Technician at our site in Eye, Suffolk. In this ‘hands-on role’, you will be responsible for providing sanitized caging and associated equipment to our animal facilities while complying with health and safety, COSHH, and other industry regulations. You will need confidence to deal with stakeholders, be a good communicator, and make decisions under pressure. The hours of work will be Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm.
Candidates should ideally have experience in a similar environment (such as a factory, warehouse, hospital/laboratory support, or industrial laundry).
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a clean and orderly environment in relevant areas of the animal facility
- Removing waste from cages/pens and processing it through the relevant waste disposal stream
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment and animal accommodations
- Receiving and storing consumables
- Assisting in the movement of animals, maintaining strict adherence to animal welfare standards
Education/Qualifications:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
Experience:
- The ability to learn and develop skills further
- Previous experience in a similar role
- A full UK driver’s license would be advantageous but is not essential
