Toolmakers and Tool & Die Maintenance Technicians are involved in the highly skilled, complex, and specialist work of manufacturing and maintaining engineering tooling used to produce components, products, and assemblies.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then it could increase depending on your age.

Most of your apprenticeship will be spent working. You’ll learn on the job by gaining hands-on experience.

What you\’ll do at work

• Maintaining transfer press tooling
• Making new tooling
• Diagnosing faults, both dimensional and visual, on customer components
• Making necessary modifications

Where you\’ll work

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from work for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

• Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
• Training will take place at Burnley College

Requirements

GCSEs in:

Essential qualifications

Maths and English (grade A*-C/9-4)
