Job Title: Rig Supervisors & Logging Engineers – Ground Investigation

Location: UK-wide (various project locations)

Contract Type: Contract (Short, Mid & Long Term Opportunities)

Rate: £300+ per day (minimum, project-dependent) + Mobilisation

We are actively seeking experienced Rig Supervisors and Logging Engineers to support a range of ground investigation projects across the UK. Opportunities are available with both leading GI contractors and consultancies, offering flexible contract lengths to suit your availability — from short-term cover to long-term rolling assignments.

Projects span a range of sectors including infrastructure, commercial, rail, utilities, and energy, with work primarily across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Roles Available

Rig Supervisors:

• Oversee rotary, cable percussive, and window sampling rigs
• Ensure site activities are carried out safely and in accordance with method statements and RAMS
• Liaise with the main contractor, consultants, and project teams on site
• Supervise logging engineers and subcontractors
• Ensure quality and compliance with investigation specifications

Logging Engineers:

• Log soils and rock to BS5930
• Carry out in-situ testing
• Record and manage site data accurately
• Sample handling and lab coordination
• Report back to the site or project manager as required

Requirements

• Previous experience in ground investigation role
• Full UK driving licence
• CSCS card and relevant site safety training
• Logging to UK standards (BS5930 / Eurocode 7)
• SSSTS/SMSTS beneficial for supervisors
• Other Ideal Certs: First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, CAT & Genny, PTS
