Permanent role

Purpose of the job: To teach a mixture of GCSE and functional skills Math sessions to students. Quality assurance of your teaching.

Salary: To £26,000 to £27,000 per annum

Hours: 8.30am to 5pm Monday – Thursday in the Centre and 8.30am to 12.30pm Friday at home. Fridays for paperwork once inducted and settled.

Benefits: 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Annual Christmas centre shutdown, and 2 wellbeing days.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate a course of learning.
  • To provide detailed syllabus/course outline information and an initial scheme of work for each course before commencement.
  • Producing paperwork.
  • Prepare plans and learning materials for each session, to make them available in advance for monitoring or lesson observation visits.
  • To give advice and support to learners.
  • Monitor, mark, and assess learner's work.
  • Provide feedback to Centre Head.
  • Advice and guidance to learners.
  • Support invigilation.
  • Prepare learners for exams and accreditation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Experience of teaching/training or working with students aged 16+.
  • An awareness of different learning strategies and teaching methods suitable for teaching a diverse range of abilities.
  • Must have a teaching qualification appropriate for working in post 16 sector.
