SEMH Teacher
Start Date: September (ideally with a one-week handover before the end of term)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Role
A specialist SEMH school in Essex is seeking a dedicated and adaptable teacher to join their team from September. This role will focus primarily on delivering Science and Humanities subjects across a small cohort of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher-whether from a primary or secondary mainstream background-to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing, therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Science and Humanities
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, supporting both academic and emotional development
- Contribute to a supportive team environment, working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and progress, using restorative and trauma-informed approaches
- Take part in a structured handover period to ensure a smooth transition into the role
Who We\’re Looking For
- QTS or relevant teaching qualification (primary or secondary)
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, particularly SEMH, is desirable
- Strong communication, resilience, and the ability to adapt to varied learning needs
- A team player with a calm and consistent approach to classroom management
- Passionate about inclusive education and supporting the whole child
