About The Role

Shift Pattern: 21 day rolling roster - 3 Days, 4 Nights, 3 off - 4 Days, 3 Nights, 4 Off

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with the adopted Code of Practice and service operational procedures at all times.
  • Follow protocols for maintaining the security of the CCTV Control Room and its facilities.
  • Report any incidents that occur immediately to the Police or report to another relevant agency.
  • Maintain accurate records of data recordings and events.
  • Provide the first response to intruder alarm calls.
  • Provide written reports on all incidents of crime & disorder.
  • Ensure safety of customers and all staff.
  • Operate and monitor the CCTV systems to activate and manage access control in line with client requirements.
  • Dispatch security officers as required via telephone and/or radio or messenger.
  • Check and manage work to permit and corresponding access control to authorised areas.
  • Liaise with contractors as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all the client’s departments.
  • Ensure that all OCS policies, procedures, and standards are in place and adhered to.
  • Maintain day-to-day contact with the customer’s representatives and attend meetings/Toolbox Talks as directed.
  • Carry out internal and external patrols and long periods of standing.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • Meet and greet guests, providing a professional and friendly service.
  • Provide high visibility Static Guarding or Mobile Guarding of the property/building and grounds.
  • Deal efficiently and effectively with emergencies including fire and bomb scares.
  • Cover reception as required.

Personal Specification

  • Security Industry Qualifications – Front line SIA/CCTV Licence for Security Officers.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must demonstrate and deliver high-quality guarding and excellent customer service.
  • A professional demeanour with sound judgment and integrity.
  • All applicants will be subject to a criminal record check (Disclosure) from the Criminal Records Bureau.
  • An understanding of basic Police and other Emergency Services procedures.
  • Knowledge of the phonetic alphabet.
  • Experience of hand-held radio use.
  • First aid at work certificate.
  • Vigilant and alert, able to use caution, and apply an inquisitive mindset to duties.
