They are looking for a skilled SQL Developer to join their team, reporting to the Application Development Manager. In this role, you will develop SQL queries and procedures, create and maintain custom reports, and modify ERP user forms to enhance business productivity. You will be responsible for designing and optimising databases, ensuring stability, reliability, and performance. A strong understanding of MI/BI principles will be beneficial as you support the business with project delivery, system enhancements, and issue resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SQL Developer looking to expand their skills into Azure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality SQL databases to solve complex business challenges.
- Identify and recommend improvements, upgrades, and modifications.
- Collaborate within a service delivery team, reporting to the Head of Application Development.
- Actively participate in team planning and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Duties & Tasks
- Develop, support, and optimise solutions in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and Reporting Services, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Gather and document requirements, working closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Support and enhance existing solutions while integrating third-party services/products as needed.
- Take proactive ownership of support and project tasks, ensuring timely completion.
- Communicate progress in daily stand-ups and escalate issues where necessary, identifying solutions to keep projects on track.
- Build strong relationships within the delivery team.
- Manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and adhere to deadlines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an SQL Developer working with T-SQL, SSIS, and SSAS (SQL 2014 and newer).
- Experience with Azure data tools (Data Factory, Data Lake) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills within complex SQL environments (On-premises & Azure).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage at all levels of the business.
- Highly organised with strong time-management skills.
- A proactive, ownership-driven approach to work.
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
