Excellent opportunity as a Maintenance Worker to help ensure that our residential building, furniture, and equipment are kept in good condition through planned maintenance and day-to-day repairs, including cleaning, decoration, and plumbing.

The Maintenance Worker will help ensure that all internal and external aspects of the scheme, including the fabric of the building, its furnishings, and equipment, are clean and well maintained to a high standard. Responsibilities include:

  • Detailing and working with a planned maintenance programme
  • Identifying and acting on any repairs required
  • Ensuring the completion of repairs and maintenance activities personally or via contractors
  • Collecting and delivering items locally, including repair materials and furniture

About You: You will naturally work in a manner that aligns fully with Salvation Army Homes' delivery values and behaviours, demonstrating energy, passion, and a positive, can-do attitude in your daily contribution as a Maintenance Worker to transforming lives. You should be confident and able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. We need you to:

  • Have empathy with our client group
  • Successfully complete a variety of low-level repair and maintenance activities both internally and externally
  • Safely use equipment supplied for repairs
  • Have good diagnostic skills
  • Manage a varied workload and demonstrate good time management skills
