Teacher – English
Leeds City College invites applications for two English Teacher positions within the School of Social Sciences.
About the Role
We have two opportunities: a permanent position and a fixed‑term role from February to July 2026. Both are full‑time, but part‑time or job‑share arrangements may be considered.
Role involves teaching Entry Level Functional Skills & GCSE English to 16‑18 and adult learners in programmes for Education & Early Years, Public Services, and Health Science & Social Care. Located at Quarry Hill Campus opposite Leeds bus station.
What You Will Do
Design and deliver innovative and engaging English sessions to learners of varying ability, working closely with the Programme Manager, Course Leader, and Study Support coaches.
As Part Of The Role You Will
- Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching resources including online material.
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a variety of teaching methods.
- Create assessment activities, provide timely feedback to motivate learners.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with students, offering support to achieve successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with a friendly, supportive team committed to learner progress.
About You
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience delivering English GCSE & Functional Skills in an educational setting.
- Experience setting targets and developing strategies to help students reach their potential.
