Join Lockheed Martin’s team at RNAS Culdrose as a Quality Assurance (QA) Representative for our Integrated Merlin Operational Support (IMOS) and Crowsnest (CN) contracts.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role ensuring the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement for critical military aviation systems.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance, particularly in aerospace or military aviation.
- Authorised signatory for aircraft and equipment release.
- Qualified AS9100 Lead auditor (preferred) or Qualified ISO9001:2015 Lead auditor.
- Strong knowledge of UK MoD MAA regulations, AS9100, and Defence Standard 05-61.
- Experience ensuring compliance against UK MoD MAA Maintenance Approved Organisation Scheme (MAOS) and Design Approved Organisation Scheme (DAOS) Regulatory Articles (RA).
- Root Cause Analysis qualification.
- Experience estimating work loading and task management.
- Occurrence Investigator qualification.
- Ability to work with and influence across multiple functions and levels within a small team
- Expertise in inspections, audits, and process improvement.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain UK MoD MAA and Lockheed Martin Design Approved Organisation Scheme (DAOS) certifications, ensuring ongoing compliance with aerospace and defence regulations.
- Quality Inspections: Oversee the inspection, acceptance, and quality control of advanced avionics, mission systems, aircraft modifications, and Merlin Training Systems to meet rigorous military standards.
- Audits & Certifications: Support external audits and ensure continued AS9100 certification for all related activities.
- Root Cause Analysis & Improvement: Lead root cause investigations and drive process improvements to enhance performance and quality.
- Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external regulatory bodies to ensure quality across the supply chain and operational activities.
- Delegated Signatory: Act as a signatory for equipment release, ensuring compliance and readiness for operations.
