My client is looking for a Managing Agent Contract Manager to join one of the UK’s most respected social housing providers. This is where your leasehold expertise and people skills come together with real purpose. You’ll take the lead on a portfolio of managing agents, enforcing standards, challenging poor performance, and ensuring every pound spent delivers for residents. Whether you’re interpreting complex leases, guiding internal teams, or escalating serious issues, your work will directly impact the quality of life in our communities. Your Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead relationship manager for a diverse portfolio of managing agents.
- Ensure lease compliance, performance standards, and VFM (Value for Money) in everything from service charge scrutiny to legal enforcement.
- Be the go-to expert for interpreting leases, tackling disputes, and challenging poor performance — even leading cases to First Tier Tribunals if needed.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and improve service quality across the board.
Your Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Property Manager, with a strong background in leasehold block and multi-tenure management.
- In-depth knowledge of leasehold legislation and the legal framework, including LTA 1985, CLRA 2002, and Leasehold Reform 2024.
- Experience managing external managing agents, either directly or via superior landlords.
- RICS or TPI membership (or equivalent experience).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Confident in challenging, influencing, and navigating complex situations.
