Job Title: Trainee Asset Inspection Technician

Salary: Up to £35,000 + benefits

Hydrosave, part of SSI Services (UK) Ltd, a division of South Staffordshire Plc, provide specialist examination and survey capabilities for the inspection and testing of pipe and assets within the water and utility sectors.

We are recruiting for an Asset Inspection Technician (PCA) due to an increase in workload. This is a physically demanding role both on site and in an office environment in a fast-paced reactive department servicing numerous clients throughout the country.

A good standard of education, including an engineering qualification, would be advantageous. A proactive and highly flexible approach to working is required, with some work involving flexible working hours and potentially working away from home for short periods.

Experience in pipe condition testing, ultra-sonic technologies, and drilling and tapping live water mains is desirable, but consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the water industry in a servicing or repair and maintenance capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Asset condition assessment, including Ultrasonic, Forensic, and Under Pressure Camera Surveys
• Compilation of reports, requiring an eye for detail and the ability to use various computer applications
• Office-based work and on-site work

Requirements:

• Full and current driving license
• Working towards or holding a HNC Engineering or Electrical qualification is advantageous
• Strong IT, numeracy, and literacy skills
• Knowledge of utility sector pipe networks is desirable
• Live within commutable distance to Tipton
• A good level of motivation to develop necessary skills and attributes
